Castlegar, BC – Castlegar Air Cadets joined forces with the 1st Robson Scouts and Venturers to give the public what they wanted at the 26th Annual Pass Creek Fall Fair – “Cotton Candy”.  Always a fan favorite, the sales of the cotton candy, are an important part of the Castlegar Air Cadets fundraising.

“The sales of Cotton Candy and the money made from parking at the fall fair is a very important fundraising activity for us.” said Shelley Hastie, the 581 Squadron Sponsoring Committee treasurer.  “This year we had a limited number of parent volunteers and cadets available to look after both the parking and cotton candy booth, so we reached out to the Scouts and asked if they could help us out on Sunday.  Without them we couldn’t have made it work.  We are very thankful.”

When asked about working with the Scouts, Air Cadet Warrant Office 2nd Class Deannah Kaiser, had this to say “I would say it was a really fun experience getting to know other people and learning how different youth groups work and what fun things they do. It was a big help having that many hands on in each shift.”

“It’s great to see youth and adults from different organizations come together supporting each other” said Scouter Deidre Price “1st Robson (scouts) is currently fundraising to send 4 youth and 2 adults to the International Scout Center in Kandersteg, Switzerland.”

The Castlegar Air Cadets have helped to serve the local community since 1952, when they first received their charter.  They are proud to be present for important events such as the Pass Creek Fall Fair.
